During Barcelona’s win over Leganes  on Sunday night, Lionel Messi  managed another impressive feat by reaching a
historic milestone as he scored his 400th goal in LaLiga Santander.

It is another record that adds to his unique and dizzying CV in Spanish football and since making his debut on match day seven of the 2004/05 season against Espanyol, he has never ceased to amaze the entire world.
Since that debut came under Frank Rijkaard, almost 30 percent of the goals that the Azulgrana have scored since then have come from the Argentine.

He never tires of scoring and doesn’t get bored of overcoming the opposition with his devastating onslaught of goals.
He hasn’t gotten tired of picking up Pichichi awards (he has five), and Golden Boots among others, which he has five of too.

That is without considering the team honours such as league titles, the Champions League, Super Cups and other continental trophies as well as the individual ones, such as The Best or the Ballon d’Or.

His first goal in the top flight came against Albacete on matchday 34 of his debut campaign and since then, he has put on a scoring clinic.
The season that perhaps stands out most is his stunningly successful 2011/12 campaign, in which he managed a phenomenal 50 goals, but in truth he has excelled in each of his seasons in the Barcelona first team.

Of his 400 goals in LaLiga Santander, 231 have come at the Camp Nou and 169 have been on the road, while 49 of them have been penalties.
His favourite victim is Sevilla, who he has netted against on 25 occasions.

The Andalusian outfit are also one of the teams who he has managed a hat-trick against, something he has done 31 times in league action.
One of the most memorable was the one he scored in 2006/07 against Real Madrid.

In his scoring career in LaLiga Santander, nobody comes near Messi.

The second highest scorer in the division is Cristiano Ronaldo with 311 and third place on the podium is taken by Telmo Zarra with 251.
At 31, he is still the king of the goal and there are more to come.
