Xenophobia: 187 Nigerians Arrive Lagos From South Africa

Xenophobia: Only 187 out of 320 Nigerians were evacuated as South African government brought up new rules to frustrate the process.

The chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, earlier today in Lagos, received over 187 Nigerians trapped by xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

They expressed their bitter experiences in the hands of South Africans. Mrs Dabiri informed returnees that the government had made available to them N40,000 recharge card to enable them communicate with their family members.

In appreciation of the gestures from the government, the returnees rose in euphoria to sing the national anthem.

The Air Peace flight which conveyed some Nigerians who left South Africa over xenophobic attacks touched down at Murtala International Airport in Lagos at exactly 9:35pm.

“We just landed safely despite the delays in South Africa.” The returnees comprising men, women and children were the first batch of the 640 Nigerians who registered for evacuation following the xenophobic attacks in South Africa. Watch The Video Below,
